Meso-zeaxanthin wasn’t included in the AREDS2 clinical study. No large clinical study has demonstrated that adding meso-zeaxanthin provides additional benefit to help reduce the risk of AMD progression. The body naturally converts lutein to meso-zeaxanthin in the retina.
